University of Guam
IAO internship program
The Guam Department of Education Internal Audit Office (IAO) offers internship opportunities to undergraduates pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, from the University of Guam (UOG), School of Business and Public Administration (SBPA), and an Associate of Science in Accounting, from the Guam Community College (GCC). We provide an opportunity for students to gain valuable work experience in the internal audit profession. The experience is two-fold; students are able to receive on-the-job training and observe the relevance of how the Accounting and Auditing fields operate in a government environment. The program places emphasis on understanding and applying audit principles and procedures with regard to operational, compliance and financial audits.
The internship program recruits qualified students who are interested in gaining hands-on audit experience. Interns are introduced to essential audit techniques under close supervision of experienced auditors. They are assigned to audit teams where they become fully integrated in the audit process, including planning, executing the fieldwork, and developing findings and recommendations.
